Introduction
The Word Dowry needs to be eliminated from the society as it attributes a very obnoxious flavor to the pious social institution called marriage. Marriage in India has been a very important event in any individual’s life and is seen as the first step towards familial life. India is a country with rich and wide heritage variety and cultural aristocracy, which upholds the family and bondages therein very seriously.
It is not uncommon to see parents’ saving their lifetime earnings for their children’s future and wedding in a typical scenario of a middle class family or even a rich family. And they wish to give these savings to their newlyweds as a starting platform for new life full of roles and responsibility. Further since the daughter leaves her parental house to go to in – laws’ house, she also gets her share in the ancestral property which she is entitled to.
All these were age old practices and there were no qualms about it. But vested interests and radical women organizations made a mountain out of a mole, using adverse media coverage to their advantage and got passed utterly bad laws in the name of Dowry Prevention. These laws only helped to increase the number of litigations but has in no way been effective enough to curb the menace or eradicate the dirty word called “Dowry”.
Hence Save Indian Family Foundation has taken this initiative and calls upon, citizens, if they happen to know that a dowry exchange is happening anywhere in a marriage or there is a whisper of extravagant / lavish spending in the marriage being done, they can lodge a complaint with us via a simple complaint form at the website.
SIFF Activists will follow up the complaint and contact the local DPO and ensure with follow up actions that dowry exchanges do not happen in reported marriages and the DPO exercises power conferred on him / her as per the Act.

If the Save Indian Family Foundation really wants to save the Indian Family, they should peel off their label as Men’s Rights Advocates.
I am against both feminist and .... (I know, no word exists for the other gender of feminist. You will have to coin one now!). If I become a feminist, I will have to hate my father and brother, not my husband alone. Being a ’men advocate’ will you be able to shut your mouth against the cruelties you sister face in her in-law’s home, if at all it happens?
I don’t think a normal human being (men or women) will lodge a complaint against the other without any reason. Yes, there are instances of people doing it for some dirty reasons. They are isolated cases. Of course, lawmakers can prevent these things happen by taking appropriate measures in that direction too. Alimony, widower pension,… I am not against all of them.
But I am against such groups that merely exploit the sufferings of people. They are making situations worse. You argued about feminist organizations earlier. SIFF also is not different. Like their female counterparts, they are also encouraging their customers to exploit the weakness of their opposite gender and ‘file complaint’ against them.
The solution: men and women, esp couples in a family, should keep their ego away and learn to respect each other’s individuality. The defining principle should be Love, not money or social status. The word ‘dowry’ can be eliminated ONLY if all girls in India decide that they get married after they are capable of earning a life on their own, and that they do not give any amount as dowry, other than their ‘job.’

Men’s rights are an automatic consequence of what was faced by the harassed victims of the Save indian Family group. When the laws are against men, and allowing the brutal an inhuman extortion of men, what are men supposed to do? Can they fight for family protection without fighting for men’s rights? Fighting for men’s rights is together with fighting to save the family as against the women’s rights movement [feminism] which is anti-family, anti-marriage as two of its basic philosophies. Family is considered an evil by feminists and marriage as a bondage for women. So, they want to destroy both.

The strange thing about feminists is that they fight for women in the role of wives and not in the role of mothers and sisters or daughters. When Save Indian Family women members complained to the National commission for women about harassment from these laws, the NCW expressed helplessness and that it does not fall within the jurisdiction of the NCW. Does that mean that sisters and mothers are not women and part of NCW mandate?
Ideally, I wouldn’t like to be what I am. You call me a Masculist. This is not what I chose but it happened accidently. I guess this is what is the destiny of most members of SIFF.

That is the reason NADO is being formed. Look, marriage and related activities are a huge business in India. Its a multi-billion rupee business in India and rich people in India as well as upper middle class spend money lavishly to show-off. Then, when the marriage does not set, they file dowry cases. This is the typical case. NADO is also NA - Do or don’t give. If we get any case or instance of dowry exchange, we will lodge a police complaint ourselves. This will prevent people from giving dowry and demanding it too. We will also force the Govt. to put a ceiling over marriage expenses so that people in the poorer strata are not harassed by the men. Same way, rich people don’t waste money on unnesessary show-offs in the name of status. Any problems with this?

Define normality. There is nothing called normal or abnormal. In earlier times, feminism was abnormal. Today, masculism is abnormal. Very soon, this will also become normal. Hence, I would use the terms ”Genuine” instead of normal. Genuine women never file a dowry or DV case. That is also the reason why genuine cases of dowry harassment do not even get reported. While 95% of cases filed under 498A are false and meant to harass men or their women family members. Secondly, do not assume that those to file false cases are a minority. There are 10 Lakh victims of IPC 498A alone in the last five years out of which 1.3 Lakh are women.[Sisters and mothers] Can 98% misuse be termed isolated cases? No lawmakers would ever want the misuse clause to be inserted because cash rich women’s groups do not want it and would bribe their way through. Do you think these laws are made for the good of women? They are made to extort from men. Its a business of 4500 crores every year in which Lawyers, Police, women’s groups, women complainants, judges are all part. Moreover, if dowry cases are reduced, the women NGOs cannot seek funds from anywhere. They need to keep the dowry issue alive, hook or by crook and that is the reason they are raising false alarms by bloated statistics and anti-male laws. Every year, 8500 crores is spent by the govt. on women’s welfare. Hardly 5% reaches the genuine cases. Rest is pocketed by Renuka Chowdhary and Girija Vyas and her comrades and they spread hatred of men. Recently, the govt. amended the CRPC and not surprising, the Lawyers were up against it as 70% of their business comes from laws related to crimes with a punishment of less than 7 years. There was bureaucratic pressure as cops make money from these. Its a huge racket.

Good. But the women’s groups and govt. are against it. Its all about divide and rule and making money by assaulting the men. Not surprising that at one time, Manusmriti came about. Perhaps, after 100 years we will have it again.

I would like to tell you that SIFF has no Customers. There is no payment for the services we do. We do it totally free and spend money and time from our own will because WE BELIEVE IN THIS CAUSE. WE ARE COMMITTED BECAUSE IT IS OUR VERY SURVIVAL. Secondly, there is no gain that we make by exploiting the sufferings of people. Women’s groups have a lot to gain by doing it as they get funds from various corporates and Capitalists to spread their movement. So, you cannot draw a parallel. Yes, we ask genuine cases of men who have been harassed to file cases against their wives too since giving dowry is also a crime as much as taking dowry. If the wives have admitted that they have given dowry, they should also be persecuted under DP-3. It would be absurd to say that drug peddling is not a crime and drug consumption is alone a crime. BUT THIS IS ONLY IN GENUINE CASES WHERE WIVES HAVE FILED CASES TO COVER-UP THEIR MISDEEDS.

Tit-for-Tat is never the solution. As I said earlier, these kinds of organizations (masculine or feminist) will further mess up the whole system. Alternatively, you will see another group rising to counter this....
What you should do, and can do is the initiatives like Anti-dowry movement. I appreciate this, because people, especially who do not have the courage to speak up, need a support from organizations like these. You just have to give a motivation to them. There are thousands of people who are ready to accept help from you, provided you genuinely address their issues.
But don’t give it a masculine or feminine label. Let it be for the benefit of all.

There is a small correction that I would like to make. When I said Masculinist, I meant for myself and not my organisation. I do not know whether my collegues call themselves the same. I definately call myself it, not by choice but out of no choice.
Its not tit for tat. As long as there are unconstitutional laws, there is no peace and there has to be a movement. We are attacking the laws and the movement behind such laws. We are not attacking women. Many of our members are female victims.
What is your stand on the unconstitional laws and discrimination of men?
Dowry law misuse is just one of the problems. There are several other forms in which men are discriminated. How do we set it right?
Yes, the fact is that actual dowry is continuing unabated whereas, on the other hand, innocent men are getting victimised. Its a racket of sorts. So, innocent men are attacked and harassed by the system in the name of somebody else taking dowry. Those who take brazenly are the rich and powerful who are above the law.
So, if you know of genuine cases, contact us. If you know of male victims of DV or misuse of laws, contact us.

I hope the sleeping janta of this doomed country would wake up some day.
All everyone knows is to cry hoarse about the ills of dowry system in India. But ironically, even, to all those shouters, its entirely OK if dowry exchange happens in their own family or even in front of them with friends or relatives.
Till the day this double standards is not eliminated from the Indians, Dowry System can NEVER be eliminated.
Moreover, Dowry System in India is ofcourse one of the main reasons of heavy income of the so-called women agencies in India. The day Dowry system ends or even reduces in India, their income of 1000’s of Million $’s would come down!
So why would they ever really want to end the dowry system in India?
